Visiting the Pacific Science Center is a core memory for many children in the Seattle area. Much has changed since you last visited, however. Specifically, the famous dinosaur exhibit has seen its final day. In its place: “Spiders: From Fear to Fascination,” a stunning display filled with hands-on activities and live spiders.
Harry Telling, who teaches Theory of Knowledge and Math at Skyline, said his favorite things about the Pacific Science Center were “the planetarium, the butterfly exhibit, and the dinosaurs.” He also recommended the center for everyone, despite the recent removal of dinosaurs.
According to PacSci’s website, 400 thousand guests have visited the center within the last year. For reference, that’s about 200 Skylines! It’s clear that people still resonate with the wondrous phenomena captured in PacSci.
Natalie K, a Skyline junior, reflected on her experience at the PacSci. “I remember going to the science center a few times when I was a kid. I remember being really interested in the butterfly room. They were super pretty, and you never really see that many butterflies in one place naturally.”
This holiday season, consider returning to the PacSci to relive that childhood curiosity and check out the all-new exhibit.
