Due the sudden spike of Coronavirus, everyone has to focus more on indoor activities and take online schools, so everyone has to use a laptop or a computer to game, study or work. Under everybody’s attention, Invidia released their 3000 series Graphics Card in the first day of September 2020. After the release of the desktop 3000 series laptops, many are eagerly waiting for the 3000 series mobile variant.

Before release, many technicians concern the performance of the mobile variant of the graphics card because the voltage of consumption. Others predicts the laptops would have heat dissipation or cooling issues. After testing, these concerns were eased, manufacturers added more head pipes and adjusted power consumption to balance the performance and heat.

Following the release of the desktop Nvidia RTX 3000 series graphics card last September, tech companies rushed to release the mobile version of the RTX 3000 series in early February this year. The new generation graphics cards come with a better performance compared to any of the previous generation and similar price to the 2000 series and the same comes with mobile version of the graphics cards.

While the latest laptops show relatively a huge performance upgrade in GPU performance, CPU shows little or no change in CPU performance. Statistically speaking, a 3070 averaged about 25%-45% of increased frames per second(fps) than a RTX 2070 mobile in many games. However, the benchmarks of the latest Ryzen 5800H CPU scored only 10% – 15% than last year’s beast Ryzen 4800H CPU on average. Furthermore, the CPU temperature of this year’s laptops are still bad in which it reaches around 90 Celsius during heavy gaming.

This means that there will be a definite increase in FPS in most triple A Titles and multiplayer games. However, CPU intensive tasks such as video editing and video rendering will not be much faster than the older generations. With that being said, game enthusiasts who just want the best performance can definitely pick up one of those newest laptops. For content creators and designers, you should consider more before buying a new laptop

Besides GPU and CPU performance, many of the laptops this year have high color accuracy with up to 4k at 120hz or 1080p 300hz display which is something that a lot of gamers dream in the past. The new display will deliver crisp, detailed visuals and a more immersive, almost true-to-life viewing experience for gamers who plays triple A titles games such as Red Dead Redemption, Cyberpunk 2077, etc.

In summary, buying one of the new 3000 series laptops is a great option for gamers who seek for higher FPS in multiplayer games and higher graphics availability in Triple A games. If you are a content creator who bought who owns a Ryzen 7 or Intel i7 laptop, I would suggest holding on to it.
