Summer is the perfect time to discover new restaurants, try new endeavors, and go to new places! Check out these great spots to hang out.
Food!
1. Sammamish Café (Sammamish Highlands): A local gem that has been around since 1998, located on the Sammamish Plateau. It’s an awesome place to go with a group and try their specials.
2. Eight Turn Crepe (Sammamish Highlands): If you have ever wanted to try a Japanese-style crepe, look no more. This new, up-and-coming restaurant features delicious, sweet, and savory crepes in a variety of flavors.
3. Tipsy Cow (Issaquah): These burgers are too great to pass up. With a family-friendly burger joint vibe, it is a great place to chill on a night out.
4. Good Lazy Donuts (Grand Ridge Plaza): If you are craving good old-fashioned brioche donuts with excellent toppings, this is the spot. With rotating flavors every week, it is an excellent choice when trying new things.
Activities and Events
5. Fourth of July on the Plateau: Spend the 4th with family and friends on the Sammamish Commons, eating food, and taking pictures with live music. Activities start at 5 p.m. and end at 10 p.m. with a fireworks show. Park at Skyline and walk over!
6. Watch the Sunset at Sammamish Landing: The Landing has always been a city favorite and offers a beautiful sunset during the summer. Set a blanket down and enjoy the golden hour.
7. Make a picnic and paint in Big Rock Park North: Up for something more planned? Grab some small easels, paint, some friends, and get comfortable on one of the many hills in the park. Be a kid again and try the zipline! The memories you will share will be worth it.
8. Outdoor movie night at Marymoor Park: Whether you are watching Legally Blonde or Guardians of the Galaxy, outdoor movie nights are one of the most summerlike activities! Check which weekend you would like to go to and enjoy food trucks and dog-friendly areas.

9. Swim in Pine Lake AND Beaver Lake: A classic summer in Sammamish cannot be complete without swimming in these two lakes.
10. Evans Creek Preserve: Feeling you need some physical activity? Grab a group and try this slightly challenging hike that takes you through the beauty of the suburb’s wetlands and hillside forests.
11. Sammamish Farmers Market: Open every Wednesday, 4-8 pm, with local music, fresh produce, and a wonderful place just to hang out and walk around.
12. Yellow Lake: Walk across the bridge to Yellow Lake and talk on the dock! It is an amazing place to spend peaceful quality time with someone.
