Our Navy Blue and Northwest Green colors are back in action after a spectacular performance last year. The new season of Major League Baseball is already off to a quick start, just a week ago on March 25, and there’s a long season ahead.
An article from The Athletic said that Cole Young from the Mariners “is ready to take over second base as their long-term answer at that position”, replacing players like Ryan Bliss, Dylan Moore and others. Additionally, Justin Hollander, the current general manager, said at the spring training camp that Young played “excellent defense at second base and has really found a rhythm at the plate making hard contact to all fields while controlling the strike zone.” Many believe Young will be a great long-term second baseman for the Mariners this season.

Mr. Julius, an art teacher at Skyline, has his own insights into the Mariners. He’s been watching the Mariners play for almost a decade and recently he and his two sons went to visit the spring training of the Mariners in Arizona. He believes that “the Mariners have good prospects, like Colt Emerson and Kade Anderson.” Additionally, he finds the Mariners to be an amazing team off the field, too. He says the Mariners understand and interact with their community kindly, highlighting his experience, “During the afternoon on my visit, the Mariners were signing all the baseballs and caps the kids had out.”
