Skyline Rolls Past Eastlake in Season Opener

Skyline fans couldn’t be more pleased with Tuesday night’s season opener. The Spartans breezed past the Wolves to a throttling 68-42 win.

Skyline looked the part in their season opener, showcasing their brand new green away jerseys. The scoring started early for Skyline and never did let up. In the first half scoring was led by Senior Dylan Reily with excellent passes from Junior Caden Culver and Sophomore Nyale Robinson.

Defensively Skyline overwhelmed the Wolves with a full court press that was executed beautifully. Senior Nahmier Robinson had plenty of steals as he was flying around the court.

The second half started similarly to the first as Skyline dominated the scoring and turnover margin. Eastlake finally got some scoring help from their guards but it was clear by halftime the game was all but over.

Senior Willy Heise could not be stopped down low in the 3rd quarter. Dominating the rebounds as he was physically too much for any Wolf thrown his direction. Nahmier came on in the second half for 15 points and Reily continued his scoring onslaught.

Skyline fans enjoyed the win, chanting Eastlake fans out of their own building in a huge statement win.

There’s more to look forward to for Skyline fans as the Spartans will wrap up their road trip against the Eagles at 8pm this Friday.
